(10,076 posts)What a country when a rude, obnoxious blowhard who turned inherited millions and millions into whatever it is now and the brainiac that reads everything she can get her hands on are glorified by the corporate media whores.

"Incredible" is a word I use in a literal sense often when discussing Palin.

(99,912 posts)"What you lookin' at? You all a bunch of fuckin' assholes. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be? You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There's a bad guy comin' through! Better get outta his way! "

(11,175 posts)If Trump were President, would getting advice from Sarah Palin tend to make the overall quality of his decisions better, or worse?
I don't think the answer is clear. I lean toward saying "better" -- which of course is a searing indictment of Trump. He is perhaps the only prominent Presidential candidate in the last several years who would benefit by being more like Palin.

So far, he hasn't found that threshold-of-stupidity with the American voters. I'm not sure if he ever will, judging from the political IQs of most of the people I live around.
These people will thump their chests and express their conservatism to anyone who will listen. Then in the next sentence, they'll tell you how we need another Ronald Reagan in the White House, when Reagan's policies and actions were a polar opposite of what they claim to believe in. They'll also proclaim that we need a businessman like Trump running the country. We had a businessman in the White House during the W presidency. How did that work for us? Herbert Hoover was also a businessman who became POTUS. How did that work for us?
