You just can't keep up. Lots of books (including mine) have been written on the subject of AI gone wild. Johnny Depp just starred in a movie dealing with this topic. Terminator etc. deal with it.

And here it is.

The fascinating part, to me at least, is that there are innumerable works out there dealing with the dangers of autonomous, self aware machines (R.U.R. has to be over a century old) but the scientists go right on with this. Its not like the dangers haven't been taken seriously. Ask that guy from Tesla or that British theoretician. They'll tell you.

If they build this thing, if they haven't already, we'd better hope they build in an automatic shut down program at the same time.

No, this ain't satire.
