Steve Horn of DeSmogBlog.org says the emails confirm that Clinton's State had a role in breaking up the state-owned oil and gas company, Pemex, paving the way for international oil to wreak the benefits of off shore drilling.

(20,453 posts)I'm deeply troubled when the mainstream media's "front runner" leaves a bread trail of neo-liberal policy. Why haven't these very smart people gotten it after all these years.
What we're seeing is the legacy of her very smart influence in the biggest source beholding to the oil and gas industry.
If you're stupid like most of the GOP candidates and love big oil, it's easy to point that out. What more people choose NOT to see is how really smart "front runners" use their time and influence as SOS to line up more neo-liberal policies that perpetuate this country's DEATH SPIRAL by ignoring real solutions to sustaining the earth and it's energy sources.
I suppose this attitude has failed enough under Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and certainly hasn't taken an interest until this last week under Obama.
Breaking up PEMEX and covering up the e-mails connecting your actual role isn't a way to "front run" through an election.

(6,002 posts)lesson is, exactly as you've pointed out, you can't represent big money & claim to be representing the people. If one doesn't understand by now that not only is this country in trouble due to the big money stranglehold by MULTINAT'L corporations, but all nations as well, thanks to their predatory practices over people & the planet, then you are either part of that problem, or simply ignorant.
Democrats need to choose what they empower in this election. One cannot claim democratic principles & also cheerlead the demise of true representative gov't, big money is buying EVERYTHING, their power is growing beyond that of nations, because they control everything through that golden, revolving door. Power is being purchased, candidates are for sale, who do we think they will be catering to? It's a no brainer & being revealed in so many ways.
It's business as usual, privatizing profit while socializing risk....funny how that socialistic adventure is never anything we hear complaints about, not while mainstream media is corporate owned, everything is being framed, always as a another marketing venture aimed at the public...got to sell it all as necessary, part of capitalism and staying competitive, spreading "democracy".
Isn't the very definition of fascism, a merger of state and corporate power? Interesting times we live in.

(84,711 posts)and Policy that should be done by Department of Commerce and not by Department of State. This is what should be investigated. How long has State been involved with making agreements over resources of other countries rather than Diplomacy. Is is now so lumped together that there's no line of separation. How long (before Hillary) has this been going on that "we the people" didn't know about?
