(36,017 posts)experiment that got out of hand, and it was so eery and evil that it was to be forgotten about. So I did.
I'm glad that the whole story's been told, that other media have shown it, and now this documentary.
For six years I had a similar discussion with my film students after showing Leni Riefenstahl's "Triumph of the Will." I told them that Triumph ran in every movie house in Germany until the final days of the war, that the movie itself was used as a shared identity reinforcer across Germany.

It's scary to think about.
