1. I prefer Obama's response to any other...it is the correct response. Righteous anger.

5. He presides, he doesn't dictate. He does far far more than just words, but we're still a republic

not a terribly democratic republic, it seems, maybe more of a plutocracy, but still a land of laws.

This idea just came to me. We, donated dollars, begin to "buy back" certain weapons off the streets and melt them down. Maybe even ALL weapons can qualify; but those more threatening..eg AR15's, glocks, etc...be bought back at slightly less than retail prices and ground up on the spot so as to assure they are taken out of circulation.

My thought is there are probably many who refuse to discard their guns because of the money they have invested in them. Yet if they could recover a good deal of what they have invested...not all, but a reasonable amount...they would consider turning them in for cash.

I have friends who have small arsenals of ridiculous weapons, but many are the kind these murderers prefer.

It's something...not enough, but at least something we can do to eliminate some of these lethal materials off our streets. Otherwise, we do nothing...again.

You don't think there would be some households that actually fear some imbalanced household member might make them consider to get the guns out of the home? It could save one life, maybe hundreds, maybe even the beginning to something bigger.

Wonder if I'll ever hear anything back. I know it's a drop in the bucket. But it's a drop, and it's better than the BS I'm hearing the nra-clowns come back with. Listened to a little on vannities insanity show today, and the nra goon was ALL over the opposing view guest. He wouldn't even entertain the idea of discussion or allowing the Congress to do a study, which is prohibited today.

Unbelievable that the nra can have such a collection of goons to protect them and their bottom line. Welcome to Washington.
