John Oliver risks jail to tell Canada to Heave Steve!

Hopefully this video will make it out to a few undecided Canadian voters today before we hit the polls. Let's all work together to get rid of Stephen Harper, and make sure that John Oliver's (possible) sacrifice in fines and jail time is not in vain!

Thanks to John Oliver, Mike Meyers, that poor moose, and that questionably musical beaver.

"Don’t be deceived by his bland exterior. Where there’s banality, there’s evil."

I'm only surprised he didn't include his association with the Australian adviser, since he played Harper's smoking-vs-marijuana comments and Crosby figured prominently in the NZ anti-smoking lawsuit, which John Oliver also covered.

Thanks, Saviolo. And thanks, John Oliver.

I couldn't stop laughing throughout this. I was a little shocked no-one had posted it, yet.

Though I know the US election is more important around these parts, it's still a potentially big deal to have the biggest US neighbour swing to the left!

There are lots of Canadians with winter homes in Phoenix. I am happier to see them arrive than my neighbors from California (very bad drivers-the lot).

in charge, but I'll be happy to see the back of Steven Harper however it happens. I'm wishing for an all-out rout of the Conservatives like the 1993 election that left them with 2 seats, but I don't think it's going to happen. Best case scenario for me would be an NDP majority with Liberals opposing. Best case that's really likely is Liberal majority with NDP opposing. Probably more likely is Liberal minority with NDP just behind the Conservatives for opposition party. But that's all speculation.

I just want to marry John Oliver! He's beyond wonderful!

Thank you for sharing this!!

Can you imagine how many more people would be in our jails of we had that law? Many people on this board would be fined and arrested when they came to our country to visit.

... that, of the vast number of movies and TV shows Harper could have mentioned, he chose one about a sociopathic meth cook with proven homicidal tendencies. "Breaking Bad"? REALLY?!!?

There's a lesson in there somewhere, eh?

Harper's been peddling conservative crank to Canada for nine years. Those Canadians who still have a few teeth and brain cells remaining have GOT to take him down.

it must have tested well with focus groups or something. He was even stiffer than usual, and it was so far from being engaged or off-the-cuff. By the same token, I really don't care what Stephen Harper watches on TV. I don't need to relate to him in any way. If his policies were sound, I'd like him as PM, but they're not and I don't. He listens to Yanni? I don't care, C51 is abhorrent. He watches Breaking Bad? Don't care, he's flushing the economy down the toilet.

You're right about his crank, though. His policies are practically the opposite of what he originally ran on (transparency, economy, and fiscal conservatism), but the Conservative rank and file are still addicted to him. It's sick, and it's well past time to Heave Steve.

Can't wait to mark my X after work today.

What's even more strange, though, is the source of that clip. Believe it or not, he was warning poor, innocent Canadians that his opponents were threatening our right to watch Netflix tax-free. Oh the horror. The finance minister even tried to popularize the Twitter hashtag #nonetflixtax.

Yes, these are the sorts of things that keep our PM up at night.... Well, that and the crank.

Maybe Harper was subconsciously influenced by this. (Sorry, I don't have a photobucket account or whatever I need to post the graphic directly.)

He might have been drinking too many beers and eating too many donuts, but the hat he's wearing is also too small, which leads me to wonder if it's all part of what they were going for...
