and a finished floor for his wattle and daub hut. Except that it is dark inside and the door leaves something to be desired, it's downright cozy!

(2,382 posts)It's actually "WATTLE" and daub. Weaving the sticks between uprights is the wattle. The most durable daub had chopped straw mixed into it as a binder. Some cattle-herding tribes in Africa used manure for daub. Eeuw!
In this construction, he used stones instead of true wattle, as early Europeans did for several thousand years.
Cool little cottage, though, and a very neat video!
