Saving Capitalism from Itself or Saving Us from It?
Judson Memorial Church
Assembly Hall
239 Thompson Street at Washington Square, Manhattan
Co-sponsored by Democracy at Work, Left Forum, and Judson Memorial Church
These programs begin with 30 minutes of short updates on important economic events of the last month. Then Wolff analyzes several major economic issues. For this December 9, these will include:
1. Paris Climate Conference: Big Words Little Action
2. Beyond Saving Capitalism: Beyond Reich and Krugman
3. Destroying Higher Education: Betraying Equal Chances for All
4. The Economy in 2015: A Look Back at the Big Changes
When time permits, we open the floor to questions and comments. Our goal: to develop all participants understanding and ability to explain current economic events and trends to others.

(12,471 posts)Richard Wolff is one of the best unlistened to economists that exist today. I guess that is because he is a believer in actual Marxist Socialism.

(6,002 posts)and his radio show, as well as articles, and other forums. While I do wish more here would give these talks a listen and show him more appreciation, I'm sure there are many who do, but just don't acknowledge it for whatever reason. I will continue to bring these here, since I do feel we need to look at the big picture, and Prof. Wolff brings us that and far more.
I can't imagine a world where all of us would not or could not openly discuss the type of issues covered in these talks. More than ever it is important to pay attention to policy and outcomes, not only in our country, but as global citizens. He is both articulate and down to earth in his explanations and overall discussions, making these presentations not only timely and educational, but entertaining, as well.
