(37,726 posts)the Koch Brother's dream, of the Kingdom of Koch. And guess what...If their boy Mitt, beats Obama, the American dream will be trumped forever, by the Kingdom of Koch.
Who would have ever thought that it would be the SCOTUS that would drive the final nail in the coffin of American "democracy"? Mr. Lincoln would be sickened by what has become of our country. Who would have believed that the "Party of Lincoln" would be the deadly political instrument Lincoln warned about that would finally quash, Government by and for the people? I believe five SCOTUS judges need to be impeached for putting the highest office in the land up for sale to the highest bidder and for causing America to not be governed by a peoples president, but a corporate president. A government by and for the corporation. The corporate American Dream, will be an American nightmare worse than the one we made it through between 2000 and 2008, if the corporations seat a totally corporate president.

Actually, Lincoln probably wouldn't be surprised at all, given that it was the SCOTUS that practically drove the last nail into the coffin in 1857 with the Dred Scott vs. Sandford ruling. That decision by the court (which, even in those days was a guardian of moneyed interests rather than a fair referee of the Constitution) gave legitimacy to slavery, making civil war the the last option. And now, a century and a half later, here we are again, with the Supreme Court looking out for plutocrats.

(5,610 posts)The SCOTUS issue is the only reason that I am voting in this presidential election. Jimmy Carter was my first vote and I have never missed a Presidential election.
I am just so sick of our corptocracy. I hope that we can get some people-centered Justices.
