I'm just shaking my head. This is so-o-o-o bad!

But kudos to Thom Hartmann for focusing on the root cause of this unfriggingbelievable disaster--the theft of "the Commons" by our corporate masters, such that the very planet that gave us birth, and that the human race cannot continue without, is being unmercifully trashed, and may be sent into a death spiral, by the few among us for whom greed is the only value.

Thank you, Thom! I hope that the message gets through, and that the political organization necessary to address and disempower these monstrous corporations will occur. It may well be that, whatever Bernie Sanders' fate as a presidential candidate, the amazing spark that he is igniting in so many minds (that some call "feeling the Bern&quot will result in such a political revolution: our reclaiming of our "Commons," our reclaiming of our rights as human beings and citizens and the beginning of true democracy.

Noted (just happened yesterday):
Gov. Brown Declares Emergency in SoCal Gas Leak Near Porter Ranch

But I don't have any faith that the Corporate Democrats, including Brown, who run the state legislature and have held the governorship off and on during the 5-decade political disaster of Reaganism, and who have gone along with deregulation, among other horrors, will do anything substantive other than declaring emergency after emergency, as the evils of deregulation hit the ground, and the people, and the animals. Declaring emergencies means WE pay--the poor pay, literally, with our taxes, and with damage to our health, and with loss of services, out of control health care costs, out of control college education costs, loss of educational access and excellence, higher and higher fees of every kind, a broken criminal justice system that falls heavily on racial minorities and the poorest of the poor, and hundreds of other losses and gouges into our empty pocketbooks to pay for Corporate Rule.

I'm glad that Brown has responded to this disaster AT LAST--a disaster that has been going on for TWO MONTHS, that has likely already undone all those cozy, corporate "cap and trade" deals, and that, as Hartmann says, is going to continue for at least THREE MORE MONTHS. What can Brown have been thinking, not to declare an emergency before this? And what are the chances that our Democratic leadership will challenge Corporate Rule, to PREVENT the NEXT disasters that Corporate criminals are right now preparing? They may change a few regs about NOT HAVING a safety valve, NOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. (Jeez!) What about the NEXT...oil spill, gas leak, gas explosion, nuke meltdown, massive loss of agricultural land to poisons and salts, massive tree diseases, massive deforestation with massive loss of fish habitat and soil stability, dead zones in the ocean, and on and on, caused by Corporate Rule and deregulation?

Bernie's right. We need a revolution NOW--a real one, not this fake shit going on in Oregon.

Here's an in-depth article on the Porter Ranch disaster, from the L.A. Weekly:

I kid.

Seems like you cannot leave a single regulatory stone unturned or some corporate asshole will exploit it.

The TPP will solve this issue.
