(19,326 posts)I'm guessing the armed interlopers want:
1) all these armed criminals to be able to walk free from any prosecution whatsoever for their crimes, if
they brandish enough weaponry to make their point,
and
2) for the Federal guv-mint to gift the Hammonds all the Federal game preserve they want to claim as
their own, for free.

(51,129 posts)That's pretty much all I've seen so far, people acting out, doing street theater for attention. If you have spotted a crime you can pin on a specific person, let me know. Did you see a No Camping sign anywhere? If not, they have two weeks before you can make them camp at their next spot.

(3,811 posts)without authorization is not allowed, nor is misusing park resources, defacing park property, etc. Some have set up armed checkpoints on public roadways. Others have made explicit public threats to shoot to kill public officials if they move to remove them from these public facilities.
If I were to "occupy" one of my favorite buildings in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or refused to abide by the park rules for overnight stays, I would without any doubt be confronted by park rangers and be made to comply or face arrest on any number of charges. Never mind if I took up residency in the park admin building with a rifle and explicitly threatened to shoot to kill any public official who tried to dislodge me.

(202 posts)but I won't believe it until it actually happens.
As far as i know, no charges have ever been brought against any of these guys when they trained their guns on Federal employees at the Bundy Ranch stand-off. Cliven Bundy is still grazing his cattle on BLM lands and still owes the American people over a million dollars.
Since Bundy and his right-wing terrorists continue to break laws and threaten people without penalties of any sort, it emboldens all these militias to continue breaking laws and marauding where they please.
I can understand the government wanting to de-escalate, but if there continue to be no penalties, we will only see more of these armed anarchists and their terrorist tactics.

All I see is some other dildos standing around in the snow. 8+ minutes in and he still hasn't clued me in on what's so exciting about this video that he couldn't trim it down first. Embedded journalist? Seriously? Some asshole who knows to hold his iPhone horizontally is more like it...

(28,929 posts)It's amazing how their illusions of grandeur have clouded their already small brains. The FBI I am sure has been ordered to keep any situation defused which makes these bozo's feel like they are accomplishing something.

(28,929 posts)They saw Bundy getting all this attention and getting free snacks and wanted their egos stroked as well. So that was nothing more than ego stroking verbal diarrhea that the FBI could care less about but to them it was earth moving history that will be talked about in the new history books for centuries to come.

(And I have to say, it really IS pretty damned pathetic when this gang of boozed-up cavemen drives down to confront the FBI, and they had no idea they were even coming. They dropped off steaks for the Bundy gang and didn't even bring donuts for the FBI. All the FBI got was articles of consideration. Not too smart of them.

All of the above can be in these militias when out of official uniform, just like the sheriff in the south is the likeliest suspect to be under the robe leading the local clan.

In other words, just another Trump rally!
by Alan Pyke Jan 7, 2016
The co-chairman of Donald Trumps New Hampshire Veterans for Trump group has arrived in Burns, Oregon, to assist the small cadre of armed men who are seeking to provoke a standoff with federal officials there.

That not-quite-standoff began over the weekend when a handful of men led by Ammon Bundy decided to turn a much larger peaceful protest over a decision to send two ranchers back to jail for arson into an armed struggle. The groups numbers are small especially compared to the 300 who reportedly joined the peaceful protest of the re-sentencing but they have now been reinforced by Jerry DeLemus, a former United States Marine living on the opposite side of the country.
Trump himself has said little about the situation in Oregon, following the pattern of most of the GOP primary candidates. But on Tuesday he seemed to tell The Hill it was time for the Bundy crew to pack it in and go home. You have to maintain law and order, no matter what, he said.
It is at least the second time DeLemus has ridden to the physical aid of a Bundy. When Ammons father Cliven had his cattle impounded by the Bureau of Land Management in 2014 over more than $1 million in unpaid fines and fees for his use of public lands, DeLemus and his son drove 41 hours in three days to come help. ....
