Unplug the cable, I have been without cable for about six years, have not missed it at all, how can you miss crap? I read more, and do more.

Like Lewis, I have an antenna that allows me to watch, when I remember, certain programs. The beauty is that because you are not stack to the TV all day surfing, trying to find something to watch, you forget the TV exists, and sometimes you forget that you wanted to watch a football game, or whatever because your dependency on the TV is gone.

I also have Netflix where I can watch a movie a week, if I remember of course...

Unplug the cable, it is the only way to defeat the greed, and force them to provide quality.

Also, your kids will read more, and do activities that will enhance them as human beings, TV leaves very little, and now that 90% of the programming is trash, it is violent, it becomes a need to unplug.

As far as movies go, if I want to watch one, I wait until it comes out on disc since I hate going to theaters.
I rip them onto my hard drive on my HTPC and watch whenever I want.
