It doesn't get too much more hypocritical than admonishing everyone to "just say no" - while your husband's administration engaged in the most massive drug-running ring in U.S. history up to then.

Ronnie didn't know, I'll give him that. But then, there wasn't much that went on during his presidency that he did know about.

discussing drugs with my students (in a casual, non-traditional setting), I frankly said that I'd been sure,
when I'd been their age (twenty-five years before THAT) ,that marijuana would surely be legal by this time. Now another quarter century has passed and still.... it's just insane. Both my mom and an uncle, both of "the greatest generation" and strongly anti-drug (of any kind) found relief in their last years from medical marijuana. We are now on the third POTUS who admittedly indulged. I'm pretty sure that the majority of legal adults today have had SOME experience with the demon weed. What is going on?

Both Republicans and Democrats in the past and present are for the Drug War... Obama really failed us here, IMO.

Clinton wants to continue criminalizing weed but drop it to a schedule II drug - the same class as Codeine, Opium extracts, Cocaine, Methadone and Methamphetamine.

Sanders wants to lift the Federal ban on Marijuana and has been active in that effort for a long time.
