Nevada Pronunciation Turnaround - most of the Eastern Media finally gets it

http://debatez.com/forum/discussion/4464/my-successful-pronounce-nevada-guerrilla-twitter-campaign-vs-the-eastern-media-and-politicians

Hopefully, over the past few days you have witnessed the major turnaround in the number of national media anchors and pundits who now correctly pronounce our state of Nevada. It was no accident. I am sure that Jon Ralston and Carolyn Goodman should get some credit but I truly believe it was my week long guerrilla Twitter "media shaming" campaign that was largely responsible.

In Tennessee, Eagleville is iggle-vul.

Shelbyville is an unintelligible slur, something like shebba-vul.

Santa Fe is santa-FEE.

Versailles is ver-SALES.

For a short while in my army days I was stationed at Ft. Knox which is right next to 'Lou-ah-vul'...that said, my high school geography teacher is likely rolling over in his grave!

My Mom is a southern lady and that's how it was pronounced in our household.
