Donald Trump didnt rise to the top of the Republican primary on his own he did it with the support of Republican voters. So rather than focusing on how to stop this guy, we need to focus on how to stop the rampant racism that is driving Republican voters. Ring of Fires Farron Cousins discusses this.

(48,999 posts)Trump may 1) Get indicted for inciting a riot, 2) not get enough delegates, 3) lose a floor fight on the convention for the nomination whether or not he has enough delegates, 4) flame out some other way.
His voters will flock to Cruz if Cruz becomes the nominee.
Great Scenario: What if Trump flames out by #3 and Cruz gets the the nomination? Trump would run as an independent and split the party. What then if the Supreme Court rules that Cruz is ineligible because he was naturalized at birth since he was not "natural born" on designated US soil? Then the Republicans would have to go to a third candidate and their party would be in tremendous disarray.
It would knock out the two most totalitarian candidates.
