Is this how you handle people protesting peacefully? Shove a barricade in their chest, yell at them to back up, and pepper spray them if they get pissed off because they are being shoved and pressed back like chickens to slaughter. Disgusting!

I have ZERO respect for NYC police from so many other examples of bully, NJ style macho-versus-citizen displays; these guys are acting like PIGS. Hence, the name. When watching some of the OWS demonstrations, the same brute behavior is exhibited. NO attempt to get the demonstrators to back up peacefully. 10. The protesters were in the street impeding traffic.

Did you see the ambulance go by? You CAN NOT impede traffic that prevents emergency vehicles from getting through. All the police were trying to do is get the mob off the street, back to the SIDEWALK. The NY city police were extremely calm and peaceful. They aren't in full riot gear, ready to bust heads. These police officers were very vulnerable to injury and possible injury. I thought they showed extreme courage AND restraint UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

That is bull and you know it. The emergency vehicles can just go around the block. There is no reason to hold a line like that, just get out of the way. This is America and those protesters have a right to be in the street.

This is just another example of cops forcing their will on American Citizens.

...citizens into citizens behind them, nor pepper spraying. NO warning...no concern for actual de-escalation of the situation. Just more bully force, with little or no concern for public safety.

I am so sick and tired of this bull shit from these macho, big city blue-clad thugs with a badge. If they are smart enough to be educated, then how about we train them effectively in how to SE-escalate situations like this, crowds protesting in urban settings. Is this the best they can do, "warn them, shove them back into the protesters behind them, warn the, shove them back harder, warn them way th some insulting language; then fuck them -shoot them in the face with pepper spray while shoving them into the fellow protesters behind them with yelling at them with insults and telling them to back up, where there is no room to back up."

Pathetic. Thugs. They acted like it. They have a history of acting like it, and they get the respect they earn...nada!
