I can't claim to be versed in Brazilian politics; but I understand the right-wing elites there have had it in for Lula and Dilma since the Workers' Party first took office 13 years ago (and did so after 20 years of stagnation and worsening conditions for the average João).

Please feel free to post this in the Latin America group. It would be a very nice addition.
