As Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore initiated the Standards Of Learning standardized tests.

Yes kids it's time to take your SOL test. Time to find out how SOL you are

They ARE still referred to as "the SOL's"

and taxpayers are paying for this university and other universities to do exactly what ?

Name a university for a individual that took down voting rights, expanded the definition of guns, and basically attacked the american worker and civil rights for over thirty-five years for starters..................to name a Univeristy for this ASSOL

And lets not forget a president by the name of Ronald Reagan, who has his named emblazoned on a airport when he started his racist laden remarks to run for the office in Philadelphia, Mississippi

the unions in some cases backed that right wing former GE / NBC hypocrite, when he use to have a half hour show, ranting about this and that and how unions were bad, and then they had him going on the shop floors saying crap.
Then later, when PATCO backed him, they go on strike, so then he decided to nationalize the air traffic control system and bring in the national guard, and now the right wing propagandists / some media outlets are saying that if he was alive today he would be appalled at what his right wing part by looks now----------------really--------------- him and Goldwater, Nixon and all of them for that matter are racists, and for over thirty five plus years they the republicans and with help of DINO's have driven union membership down to 7% of the population, and today there still attacking

I agree they are naming buildings, public backed institutions for a racist, a black robed racist,.................you get the flag down and some sculpture, but now they put up a name------------------what the hell is the difference-------------------------none--------------- a racist is a F****ing racist

This is just outrageous -------------------and then they have the F*****king Koch's bankrolling the economics department spewing Ayn Rand libertarian crap----------------------------and the parents are sending there young adults to these institutions to get brainwashed-----------------------------amazing, or they support the brainwashing--------------amazing

So far, it's worked well.

But, does renaming a school require $30 million? Bet that amount could have built a damn good law school not that long ago.

I think Scalia reveled in being an asshole that wouldn't be stopped by anyone else's sense of ethics or morals. His family probably doesn't appreciate this at all, but I think that cantankerous old man would be OK with the name.

Law school named after Scalia runs into acronym issue

By Rebecca Savransky

The university wrote in a letter sent to students and alumni that it is "authorized to use a variety of different names."

"The name initially announced – The Antonin Scalia School of Law — has caused some acronym controversy on social media," said Henry N. Butler, dean of the law school, in the letter.

"The Antonin Scalia Law School is a logical substitute."
