I don't mind making fun of Democrats, but there's nothing to make fun of with their immigration stance. Pandering is when some politician that doesn't speak Spanish does an ad in Spanish, or having him go eat a taco or whatever, but the Dream Act is just normal sensible policy that isn't ridiculous, and is completely in line with the Democrats' position all along.

The part about Fox News's editing was excellent, however.

When will Stewart knock this idiocy off? When will DUers quit propagating these lies?

*sigh* Answer: Never.

point he is making. I still think it is very funny. Some political calculation can also be good policy. As a political calculation, which I'm not naive enough to figure that that plays no role in why they make certain decision, it was a master stroke. This basically splits the Republicans from the Hispanic vote, which they desperately need to be competitive, and which they hope to pander back to the middle on; and the angry "love it or leave it" crowd which they risk pissing off to the point that they don't bother show up at all. The Democrats really don't have this problem as most of those people aren't voting democratic to begin with.
