Italy: 'People before profits!' Thousands decry TTIP in Rome

Published on May 7, 2016
Tens of thousands took to the streets in Rome, Saturday, to protest against the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the United States.

Protesters gathered on San Giovanni Square, held anti-TTIP banners with slogans such as "American chicken filled with hormones on our tables? Stop TTIP", "People before profits", and "Free circulation? Not capital, but people," and chanted slogans denouncing the treaty.

7. It's not false equivalence

It's an apt comparison. They all suck.

What's strong with you however is ignoring the message and attacking the messenger.

You did that with you're original post and with your response to me.

Weak.

9. Are you serious?

The US MSM pushes all sorts of garbage and let's conspiracy theorists like Trump say whatever they want with no challenge on a daily basis.

Look at how many US government lies the MSM parrots without even bothering to check them. It's pathetic.

And anti-semitic? What about the hundreds of BS anti-Iran stories the US MSM pushes? What about the complete silence on US war crimes in Yemen? The coup in Guatemala? Endless other CIA run crimes over the years?

Come live in Europe for a while and you'll see just how crap and and dishonest the US media is.

12. Again

Attacking the messenger..

It's a sign that you don't have a convincing argument.

Which is obviously true.

I live in Europe. We get news media from around the world... The US news media is a joke. Unserious, biased and utterly dishonest.

And that's not even considering the fact that the most popular news channel in America is flipping Fox News...

14. EdwardBernays, you just linked to a RWNJ website and its anti-Obama conspiracy theory

you actually cited a RW activist website that advocates for prayer in public schools (among other things), as part of your citing a two-year-old CT that Obama has an insidious plot to put government agents in newsrooms. (How's it going with those monitors, anyway?--since we've heard nothing about it since then. Or have all the witnesses been assassinated to keep them quiet?)

You know you've just shredded your own credibility, don't you?

No surprise you're apologizing for Putin TV.

Saved for posterity:

16. A yet again

All you can do is attack the messenger.

I assume you think the WSJ - who they were quoting - is spreading conspiracy theories as well?

The problem with your inability to actually do anything but attack the messenger is that it shows you can't ACTUALLY defend your position. Because they're indefensible...

Cue personal attack in 5 4 3 2 1

3. Let me guess, the MSM didn't broadcast anything about this?

I know it sounds like another Austin Powers movie plot, but it seems like the big international corporations are trying the whole World Domination thing. The TTP is another steep in their plan to keep us poor and unhealthy while the very wealthy control everything and live in opulence!

6. I don't care about RT's motivation, I care about censorship.

In many countries around the world the truth of this terrible trade agreement has come out and caused protests. Many of us here in America don't like being sold out to these ambitious corporate schemes and it is relevant to know the other countries do not like it either.

Is you only objection that RT aired this, or do you support the TTP too?

Please understand that RT is 100% a channel of the Putin gov, which represents gaybashing & the murder of gays, POC... The destruction of the independent media... The destruction of democracy.
