Related: About this forumPic Of The Moment: Rice: Obama Foreign Policy "Lacking"
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Tuesday that President Barack Obamas foreign policy is "lacking" and argued that "we need a greater, more assertive America in the world."
"When things are moving in many different directions as they are, after great shocks to the system like 9/11 and the global financial and economic crisis, and now the positive shock of people insisting on their democratic rights, the United States can't lead from behind," Rice said on "CBS This Morning."

She shoukd have resigned then and there in disgrace. But of course she's a Repuke.

(7,402 posts)If you want to talk about "lacking" I would suggest an examination of what happened in the aftermath of the PDB of August 6, 2001 where Rice and Bush were warned that "bin Laden determined to attack inside US" possibly hijacking aircraft. That warning gave just about everything except the exact date and targets, yet you and Bush let it happen. Now that is what I call lacking. "My Pet Goat" was a higher priority!

Early education
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condoleezza_Rice
Condoleezza Rice as an undergraduate student at the University of Denver
Rice began to learn French, music, figure skating and ballet at the age of three.[7] At the age of fifteen, she began piano classes with the goal of becoming a concert pianist.[8] While Rice ultimately did not become a professional pianist, she still practices often and plays with a chamber music group. She accompanied cellist Yo-Yo Ma playing Brahms's Violin Sonata in D Minor at Constitution Hall in April 2002 for the National Medal of Arts Awards.[9]
This makes her a bit more human to me, as I slap myself for writing it.

(233 posts)Oh --and the foreign policy under the Bush administration was so successful, they feel they can criticize the successor?
They should go down in history as a collective, abysmal failure in all policies, foreign and domestic.
We may still be shoveling ourselves out of the pit they dug for us ten years from now.

(24,391 posts)I mean, other than the 3000 Americans whom died in a terrorist attack that they were warned about and did not have enough imagination to believe could happen the way it did, failing to capture of the mastermind of said attack, 4000+ soldiers that died needlessly in Iraq (which did not have WMD after all), billions of dollars spent (off the books) on a needless occupation in Iraq, causing the countless deaths of innocent Iraqis whom had nothing to do with Saddam Hussein's regime other than living under its oppression, completely snubbing and honking off the UN and most of the civilized world from day, ignoring the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
Heckuva job there, Condi!

Condoleezza Rice: But I dont remember the al‐Qaida cells as being something that we were told we needed to do something about.
Richard Ben-Veniste: Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6 PDB [Presidential Daily Briefing] warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?
Condoleezza Rice: I believe the title was, Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States.

(53,737 posts)The nerve of this woman who help get us into two wars where the deaths of over 100 thousand Iraqs, Afghanis and Americans occured. I still remember her "smoking gun" remark about the weapons of mass destruction that Bush/Cheney claimed were in Iraq. Of course they were never found because they never existed but claiming they were there was enough to get us into two wars that was demanded by Bush and Cheney's corporate crony/masters demanded. They all made trillions. And those were different trillions than the ones handed over to the banks in 2008 during the alleged economic crash (it was sold to us as 750 billion but secretly over 12 trillion was turned over to the banks). Yeah, Condie, we're real receptive to your arguments. And wipe that blood off your hands, for God's sake.
