But then, she's the adult in the race, and she is always gracious when she mentions him.

Oh, wait, just the other day, Sanders said the system wasn't rigged, just dumb.

Shouldn't his acolytes be adopting his re-characterization? Seems you're parroting Old Bernie dogma, not the latest Bernie dogma.

Get with the revolution!

22. Confronting you on your attitude is not being unfriendly

I was trying to point out there is no need for that. We need to start trying to get along. I am not trying with the yellow button people...they are going on ignore, but anyone else is someone I'm willing to talk to, if you are also willing to talk about putting down the weapons (the verbal weapons) and instead stop attacking each other for threads that are not intended to inflame anyone.

Why start it? Why not just try to converse in a conversational tone, not a confrontational tone.

I don't know how to reach people who start that way without addressing what and why I am doing it.

This thread was just good news and energy and support for Bernie people, not anything attacking Hillary or her supporters. So why did you even go there?

Why can't we try to start using our "conversational voiced" when we have a conversation here?

If Bernie wins the nomination, I'd hope some Hillary supporters will vote for him. But the longer we keep sniping at each other, the harder that will be.

I'm opening the friendliness of the group to you, not so you will support Bernie over Hillary, but so you will support him if he wins.

I would hope people on your side might consider trying the same thing. While I would never quit Bernie to support Hillary, I will vote for her if she's the nominee.

I can do it while I'm gagging, or I can be resolved that it's just something I have to do to unite this party and beat Donald Trump. Without rancor at the supporters who have been so nasty to Bernie and his supporters.

But we have to start somewhere.

I can see reacting with snark to a snarking thread, or something you find insulting. I can't see it in a thread like this.

23. Why not put GDP posts into GDP and stop weaseling them into this forum?

I have no interest in engaging with you in the silly, "If BS wins" conversations. Because they're ridiculous.

And you are NOT opening the friendliness of the group to me. There was nothing friendly about your post.

My saying, "That's nice, dear," has sent you into a rather large tizzy of nasty while you are, at the same time, insisting on your friendliness. That tells me that you have, once again, fallen prey to the absolutely glaring and wild projection that you so frequently fall prey to.

So my reaction to your post?: That's nice, dear. Have a nice night.

28. It's OK to post politics (even primary stuff) in this forum

Last edited Sun May 29, 2016, 10:38 PM - Edit history (1)

If you are that touchy, that you can't even stand to see a positive thread about Bernie, you might be in for a rough ride before the convention is over.

This thread was not bragging, taunting, or saying Bernie is going to win the election, just that they are going to fight for him to win California, and excited by the crowds and enthusiasm.

I understand you don't want to see these kinds of threads, but much worse threads show up on the front page all the time, from other groups, that I don't want to see. Like nasty hate threads from Hillary supporters aimed at Bernie or us, and hidden in the Hillary group. It's part of the package of this web site. You need to learn to deal with it.

I'm not at all in a tizzy over your post and I'm not being nasty.

But are you? I frequently fall prey to wild projections? Do you even know me? Actually you seem to be projecting a great deal of anger right now at me. You just don't want to admit that it's your own anger making you think I'm being nasty here. People who know me here, know when I'm being nasty...this is not it. When I get pissed at a Hill supporter being nasty, I can very easily dish it right back, but I try not to start it, and I often call people on things they've done that are too nasty and ask them to tone it down. Even Bernie supporters.

That's all I was doing here. I was trying to be funny, but I guess you were too upset to see it any way but the way you wanted to see it, because, well, I think you were already in a tizzy over the thread.

You don't have to engage in friendlier conversations that you just think are silly. But you also don't have to engage in venting in a thread like this. If it's not your thing, just stay out of it. I found this comment from you in another thread, and I think this explains your anger...but please don't try to project it on me. You have been building up a head of steam for some time.

One loon was referenced from here yesterday. Really crazy stuff going on with those zombies!

I've trashed BS and GDP and still can't entirely get away from the irrelevant ones.

Now, because my intention is not to get you more riled up, I'm going to end this conversation, and you can have the last word. Go ahead...I won't mind, because I think you have some steam to blow off.

Bye!

edited to correct my mistake. I thought this was in GD, but it's in multimedia, so it was not out of place at all. It's OK to post this in this forum. Sorry Squinch...you are just having a bad day aren't you?

Democrats have been kicked right wing butt in the last two gen. elections. No one thought PO could win, but we canvassed, and polled and donated and he hit the road, and by golly we pulled it off. So don't come round here saying Bernie doesn't have a chance, especially with that Chris Cristie NJ talk.

You all have worked out that New Jersey thing with Hillary's M$M, as evidenced by accidentally spilling out of Chris Matthews mouth the other night, haven't you?

You go on, now. And we will go on. And Tuesday night the decision will be made by the state of California. Democracy is a nail-biter, isn't it?

79. Bull ... you may have heard of him but you never heard or listened to him.

Nothing that would have inspired you? Then you don't even belong at DU. ... Oh, I forgot about the New Democrats who inhabit this place -- so I guess maybe you do belong here. I
'm guessing the reason you were never inspired by Bernie (if in fact you had heard him in the past) is that you're focused on social as opposed to economic issues. ... THat's what the Ds have done for the past 35 years -- used social issues to try to keep their base engaged. You can see how well that has worked out beyond the White House.

77. guess you don't know much about the Bernie movement

It's made very clear at Bernie organizer meetings that this is about more than Bernie.

With or without Bernie, the movement will continue.

78. Great! Then I hope to see many of those Bernie supporter run

for political office. Whether it's city council, mayor, state rep, governor or for congress and the senate. I actually support many of the issues he supports. But change starts from the bottom up. Rallies and demonstrations won't do it alone. We can march, and shout all we want, but if we don't have the support of those in local, state and national office, it'll all be for naught. So I hope he has created the infrastructure that will go a long way to support candidates who will change the direction of government in the future.

35. We are counting on you!

My state of Colorado went for Bernie, although I need to call my governor, John Hickenlooper. He is a super delegate who has said that he is still endorsing Hillary. Nothing like ignoring the will of the people. 😟

42. The four of us in the household have voted for Hillary

And California is my HOME STATE TOO! Bernie's policies (19 Trillion dollars in new debt) and new taxes will be damning to California's middle class.

56. 2016 Fiscal Factcheck

However, based on our estimates, which come largely from independent sources like the Tax Policy Center (TPC),1 these offsets would fall significantly short of the costs, and the plan would add almost $19 trillion to the already unsustainable national debt.

You get your misinformation from BERNIESANDERS.COM, I take it?

64. This Californian is proudly voting Bernie, the

only candidate generating enthusiasm here. He's holding multiple rallies and not taking anything for granted. I predict a big win.

The corporate rag LA Times endorsed Hillary today. That assures even more votes for Bernie! LOL

66. The HRC backers have a really curious way . .

of winning friends and influencing people.

Do they actually think that insults and snark
aimed at progressives will help them in November?

We get the same crap all the time from the country club democrats
in my area. All you get is sneers from them until they need your
vote once in a while.

69. Com'on California, keep up with Oregon!

Oregon was a closed primary, so over 80,000 independents re-registered as Democrats to support Bernie. Oregon gives a damn.

California has hundreds of thousands of independents and new voters who are also registering as Democrats. Keep it going!

Hopefully there will be a good turnout. Can't understand why people will vote for Hillary when her unfavorable rating is so high. Go figure.
