CBS This Morning
Published on Jun 17, 2016

Virtual assistant technology is rapidly spreading on smartphones and devices like Amazon's Echo. Viv co-founder and CEO Dag Kittlaus joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the new generation of virtual assistants powered by artificial intelligence.

Siri wasn't "invented", it was bought from Nuance and products have been doing similar things for years (Early 2000's, think PocketPC, Compaq iPaq)

Google Voice search - released in 2002.

Wow, Viv can call other apps. Color me not surprised. Been doing that since the 90's.

The bar for "Artificial Intelligence" keeps getting set lower and lower.

Otherwise, I'm just going to expect my iPod touch to remain giving me weather reports, sports scores and directions to the nearest Lebanese restaurant.
