The Republican ground game for the 2016 election is almost nonexistent at this point. They seem to have fallen into a deep depression because of Donald Trump, and now they clearly don’t care about this election season at all. The Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

if the roles were reversed and somehow they had an candidate that had an 80% chance of winning while we had a complete disaster, what would we do?

we'd campaign like hell at the congressional and state level, that's what we'd do.

and that's what they're going to do, even if we believe they're really "giving up" at the presidential level.

winning the senate is important and well worth it, and winning legislatures ahead of the 2020 census and redistricting is important, too. let's be lulled here at any level.
