Trump is going to leave the foreign and domestic policy making to the Veep.

5. The last few GOP administrations have set up a pattern where the real power rests with the veep.

Thom himself remarked on this in a recent video, comparing it to Britain where the Queen is a figurehead and the real power rests with a Prime Minister. In recent Republican administrations, the president has been mostly a figurehead, providing the sound bytes and photo ops that feed our media, while the vice president runs things behind the scene.

Think of Ronald Reagan, who mostly slept through two terms, while George HW Bush and the CIA ran the Contra war in South America and the mujahideen in Afghanistan (Who would later become the Taliban), all funded by smuggled cocaine.

Also, of course, there was George W and Dick Cheney. Dubya strutted around in a flight suit, under a 'mission accomplished' sign while Cheney, who had lied us into war, planned its continuation into the indefinite future.
