Roky Erikson is amazing. Even the Blieb Alien stuff like "Two Headed Dog" is awesome.
I first discovered them in 2000 when I watched the film "High Fidelity" (at the time I was 20, so I was understandably late to the party)
Foo Fighters had a segment on them during the Austin episode of their "Sonic Highways" series.

(4,014 posts)4. IN the early 90s I was in a band and we covered these songs
We selected songs to cover from 65-66, and wrote about 1/2 of our songs ourselves. The band was The Miracle Workers from Portland, Oregon.
The kids thought it was all original music and they loved it. The older fans would gather in the back and take great pleasure that the songs they knew almost 20 years early were making a comeback.
It was glorious..
