Unfortunately, Trump supporters are uneducated idiots that have no chance in society.

high school. I've asked a lot of kids today if they've read it, and very few have even heard of it. The ones who are familiar with the book are almost invariably in AP courses. It's all part of the dumbing down of the populace that's been going on for the past few decades, and people like Trump are the result.

As another poster has said, most people who have graduated from high school have read 1984, so a lot of people are familiar with the 2-minute hate ritual. But what are you specifically alluding to? Our media in general? Fox News specifically? Donald Trump's campaign? The campaigns of those opposing Donald Trump?

There are a lot of different ways you can apply the concept of the 2-minute hate to American society right now. I'm wondering what you have in mind.

And you're right- too many real world scenarios match what once was only fiction. And if you don't study the fiction the reality won't make any sense.

Ever read Brunner's Stand On Zanzibar? Remember the "muckers"? J. B. described much of today's violence back in 1964.
