So much of Trump's support is based on hating Blacks, Hispanics and Women it is frightening. I always knew they were out there, I just hoped they would stay under their rocks, go to their meetings out in the woods but this guy is making it ok to go on a radio show and say you are an "avowed racist" and be proud of it. Scary times.

3. I have a coworker who is a Trump supporter.

I asked her a few days ago why she was supporting Trump. She told me it was because she wanted all the mexicans gone. Also she was really scared of the trans bathroom law. She said it was a breeding ground for pedophiles.

Two, I remember tRump saying "Well Caitlyn Jenner can use my bathroom." when that issue came up. Also pedophiles? Really? How?

He seems way too aware of what a "dogwhistle" comment is, yet is mangling the context of how it is used, which is to attract idiots.

I also think mentioning he's "watching his mother's TV" is another giveaway.

7. Unfortunately, I don't think he was a troll.

He sounded sincere to me, and I have no doubt that there are lots of people just like him. What's been happening recently is that they've become more outspoken and seem to think that it's a badge of honor to have the courage to speak "the truth" (which of course is not truth at all). They truly believe that most people think like them but are afraid to speak out.

I keep telling myself that it's just a last gasp by desperate reactionaries who see things changing in ways that they don't like. I hope that I'm right and that it isn't an actual resurgence of overt bigotry and hate.

I think that when Trump loses, these people are going to be pissed and some of them might be dangerous.
