This was an excellent panel discussion, although far too short in length, given the depth of the topic. I could have listened to the speakers all day! (True confession, I'm a huge Krugman fan!) How business impacts democracy is important, given the trend of consolidation and monopolies over the past several decades, as well as the seemingly one way, revolving door between government workers transitioning into the private sector. How does this impact enforcement of government regulations and where does the individual citizen fit into this picture? Are we all just consumers? Can democracy survive this trend?
