It's NOT hyperbole to compare Trump, the sociopathic autocrat, with Mussolinii or Hitler, both sociopathic autocrats. The only point at which I differ with Olbermann is giving Trump any "credit" for the masses of supporters he's attracted, like flies to a dung pile. Those people are the long-cultivated "base" of today's Republican Party. In a nation of 320 million, he's likely to get perhaps 50 million voters. That's just about the same percentage (35%) as the percentage of Germans who were members of the Nazi Party in the late 1930s. What's different is that OUR country has not suffered anything close to what Germany suffered due to intolerable armistice terms imposed by the Allies after WW1. What's also different is that Germany didn't have its military spread all over the world with bases equipped to strike. Germany didn't have nuclear weapons.
The world is watching. The rest of the world does not view this as entertainment---like so many of us do. We're running out of "goodwill" and that shortage means the Doomsday Clock is getting ever closer to midnight. It would NOT be paranoia to be afraid.
