(43,593 posts)Once Trump is sworn in. It will be as if his swearing in, will be confirmation that Haters, can now have the licence to do acts of hatred. The next four years, it will get worse. There will be no one officially who will step forward and say, this is wrong, please stop. The President elect, will be part and parcel of these acts in, that even if he says nothing, his silence will speak volumes to those who perpetrate these acts of hatred.
I for one, am so Glad I live in a state and city that is so diversified, that no one can be the dominate over any of the minority groups here. We are in greater numbers and growing stronger. Such acts will not be tolerated by any group here.

(43,593 posts)Education and Diversity. When large groups of different kinds of people live together, even in separate communities, they will come together eventually. This is so true with San Francisco Chinatown, which once was the only place a Chinese-American would feel safe, but as things grew and changed, many moved out not only across the city but the nation itself.
San Francisco has several areas where large numbers of people who share a heritage live. The Mission district for Hispanics, Chinatown, the Fillmore for African Americans, The Castro for Gay Lesbian and Transgender tend to live...and though there are many of the same kind of people, others have scattered about though the city and county of San Francisco.
Over many years people have moved into neighborhoods they have felt comfortable with and some have moved in and mingled with others. Middle and High schools are very diverse here.
Yes, while growing up I hung out with and had best friends who were Filipina, Chinese, Vietnamese, and all were my Sisters and brothers. But we mingled too..with other groups of kids, and we all basically got along with little or no incidents of race hatred. Yes there were fights, and problems but nothing that would explain it as a Race problem. Kids were just being kids.
Its funny that there is now a TV show called "Fresh off the Boat", because many of us were called FOBs even though we had lived in this country for a few generations. It was kinda of like a joke among us, and we laughed at the idea of people being Noobs and their antics of being new and uninformed.

May Donald Trump burn in hell for his part in this, but the parents of those children are just as culpable.
