(23,294 posts)that Bernie gets all this air time after the election when during the primaries these networks basically ignored him? Don't get me wrong, I love Bernie. I just find it disingenuous of our corporate media...again...still. Sigh.

(5,272 posts)been selling, they are perfectly smug enough to have him on now that it doesn't matter...which means nobody up there is sweating that this message is going to have any longer coat-tails. That said, I'd rather somebody be hearing it than nobody.
I wish Sanders would throw in a curve ball at these town halls and start talking about the corporate owned media. Of course they'd poopoo it and say "we put you on...ho ho ho...how corrupt can we be..." but he should go in prepared for that.

(8,277 posts)Come on! The Republicans have the loudest voices and their own network yet you guys are poo pooing someone that has actual plans, and he shouldn't get a voice?
Where is Hillary? She's recovering, fine, so let her but Obama can't do it anymore either. His days are numbered and apparently, considering his approval ratings, he's doing just fine but his terms are done. Bernie's whole premise is that he can't do this alone, we all have to get involved. Just like Obama said, YES WE CAN. And we dropped the ball and went home and stopped caring and look what we got now.
Listen, I think it is disgusting that Bernie didn't get this air time during the primaries but in fact, he did have appearances in town halls before. The right called him a socialist from the get go so half the population considers him a laughing stock and the media shut him out. But let's just wait and see if he can help our causes.
Bernie has inspired me to leave Europe and come home and help our causes cause I can't do crap here. I'm moving back and the movers will be here in three weeks and I'm paying for this myself and going into debt to do it. I am going to go to every democratic organization in AZ and find a job (because I need to pay for the roof over my head and eat daily) and hope that others come along. I'm making a sacrifice to stand up against the orange one.
What are you doing?
We can't lay down and let the Republican destroy our country and I'll be fighting 'til my last breathe to be part of it.

(23,294 posts)I'm saying that Bernie has had this same message all along. During the primaries, he was ignored by the MSM and now they are giving him a huge platform and town hall meetings, and while it's great to see it is too little too late. I absolutely agree that his message is important, I'm simply pointing out the obvious hypocrisy of the media. If they'd given Bernie this kind of coverage in the beginning we might not be having this conversation.
You ask what I am doing? Well, I worked the phones at my democratic precinct offices to get out the vote before the election. I registered voters at the elections office annex in my town before the election and I am participating in the women's march on January 21st in my state capital. I have called my congressional and senate representatives regarding the upcoming repeal attempt on my health insurance. That's for starters. I have and will continue to work for our cause.
