He is actually a talented actor*, but he is probably more famous now for his odd behavior than for his film roles. I wonder, though, whether some or even all of his quirky behavior might be either for publicity or just because he has an absurdist sense of humor.

His name, too, attracts attention because most people have no clue how to pronounce it until they hear it (as in this video).
