This is a time bomb.

I really see the situation with Trump right now as something of a race. Which will happen first? Will Trump make a significant enough blunder for the Republicans, who've been sharpening their knives behind his back, to impeach him? Or will Trump involve us in a major war with China over the South China Sea?

As far as the South China Sea dispute goes, I'm still in the process of getting up to speed and still forming my opinion. It looks to me like the area's main legitimate claimants are the Philippines (to the east) and Vietnam (to the west). China's the big dog in the area and has significantly overstepped its bounds in claiming those islands so far south. I'm torn as to whether the U.S. should be getting involved. As long as shipping continues to flow through the area, who cares? On the other hand, if we allow China to turn the entire area into a militarized fortress, it may be too late to respond.

If anyone has any thoughts to offer, or good articles to point me to, please let me know.

moral standing to go in and try and stop China's overstep in the South china sea, nor is there any upside for us to do so. At least they aren't killing hundreds of thousands in the region they are being slobs about. You know, like we did.

Just my two cents.
