GOP Gerrymandering: Death Grip on Democracy

This video details how the GOP has a lock on House and Senate races in both houses for this decade and probably the next. Can the democrats block this?

1. I used to think this was the case, but realized that I have to go deeper.

Have to look at how it could get to this point - that they could gerrymander so many districts. To do so, they would have to win the office that puts them in the position to do such a thing. As a lifelong Democrat, and in the first 18 y/o's to vote, I see a very disturbing trend. Democrats fall into a very broad group of ideologies. Republicans, as research has shown, all think in somewhat the same way. Us Democrats will vote for a person, regardless of whether they can win an election or not, similar to tea party nuts. But our ideologies range from equality for all to damned near hardcore communism. We simply will not vote for someone that is outside of our own ideology group. That gets us bad candidates and elects Republicans.

Hard pill for many to swallow, but it is a fact that is hard to deny.

3. The GOP would not fund gerrymandering

if it did not produce and maintain the GOP lock on House races.

4. Kick for sure.

Depressing video but it's the truth and it looks really bad.

He makes a really, really good point about our best bet being to take back Governorships in those states where the Governors have veto power over the drawing of proposed maps for Congressional districts.

Some one should make an OP about that strategy.
Thank you sagesnow and rurallib.
