4. What struck me in the video, aside from the treatment of the passenger,

was how narrow the aisle was.

don't remember aisles being that narrow, but then again, I have not flown in almost 20 years now.

7. This is a regional airplane

operated by United Express. They are very small. Our local airport uses mostly these small jets and prop-jets. We avoid United though. Fly mostly Alaska Airlines out of here.

8. Narrow aisles mean more seats!

For years airlines have been reducing seat width, legroom, and aisle width to fit more seats into each plane. The result is cramped passengers, short tempers, and mostly unpleasant flying experiences--this at a time when Americans have mostly been getting larger! The aisles are so narrow that anyone already seated in an aisle seat regularly gets hit in the head by passengers carrying shoulder bags. We desperately need something in this country like a high-speed Eurail system. If the airlines had a bit of competition, they might improve their attitude toward customers.

5. Who the hell has the time to read lettering that is 1mm large.

He may not be able to sue the airline, which is complete bullshit. The doctor can sue the gorillas that pulled him off the plane.

It's also time for some airline reform, in the manner he/we can sue for shit like this. The Airline Lobby has been running rough shod over Congress since 9/11. Enough.

9. I agree that this is BS

But it's likely that if he tries to sue, they can force him into arbitration. The only way we can have an impact at this point, I think, is to hurt their business by flying other carriers. Unfortunately, United flies most everywhere. We will avoid them from here on out. Hate United. Their service sucks!

15. Yeah, the alternative choices usually involve making the passengers pedal

Our options where we live in Southern Oregon aren't great. We have to fly out of a small airport. United flies here, but I usually take Alaska. They are wonderful!

11. Uh, isn't lil Jared

the incompetent poseur who ran the NY Observer into the ground? By being a clueless micromanager and "efficiency expert" (not)?

Of course, their aim is not to improve the Federal Gov't but rather to privatize = profitize to the maximum extent possible. Plus, clearing the path to enable dump's cronies to loot the nation.

May their ill-intentioned and clueless endeavor here have as little success as their other bungling "initiatives"

We need to resist here as much as in other areas of their toxic interference. A strong civil service is a major bulwark against oligarchic takeover.

I even purchased Trump stakes to kill a vampire in the neighborhood. It broke on impact and made his 10x more powerful
Fortunately, it made him momentarily stupid and I got away.
Then the vampire slaughtered the whole neighborhood. But I, in the True Trump Fashion got away scot free

21. "Government can't be run like a business. That's a feature, not a bug."

"Government isn't like a private business and will never be like a private business. By definition, it does not face competitors, nor it does need to make a profit. In fact, offering an alternative to the profit-driven private markets is half the point of government.

"American citizens aren't the government's 'customers.' They're more like the government's employer, deciding what projects they want done through democratic dialogue and then delegating that job to some part of government. And since the federal government controls the currency, and can ultimately print money to finance its borrowing, it isn't hemmed in by the demands of profit-driven competition. Its only upper limit is the risk of inflation. That allows it to keep spending in a downturn, when private businesses have to tighten their belts or close up shop.

"The government's approach has its weaknesses: Without the discipline of competition, cost overruns, redundancies, and bureaucratic sclerosis can set in. Just look at the byzantine and horribly expensive process of government infrastructure. Massive military boondoggles are another classic example.

"But the government also has its strengths. Because private businesses are profit driven, they often fail to provide low-income Americans with infrastructure and transit, internet access and broadband, education, mail services, health care, financial services, access to decent food, and lots of other services. Private markets have a terrible time addressing systemic social failures like climate change. And of course, some projects just don't lend themselves to market competition, leading to natural monopolies. Government can step in and plug these holes, or even take over providing these services entirely."

"Our hope is that we can achieve successes and efficiencies for our customers...."

Customers? Total bullshit. Corporations hope to "achieve successes and efficiencies" for their STOCKHOLDERS, who are often themselves.

NYU wants their MBA back.
