Bill Nye Promotes The Solutions Project

Why wait.

The context of this great idea:

Ruffalo had read a Scientific American article that Prof. Jacobson had published in 2009 that proposed, on a macro level, the feasibility of a nationwide transition to 100 percent renewable energy...

... Fox convened a conference call between Professor Jacobson and prominent Cornell Professors Anthony Ingraffea and Robert Howarth who agreed to work on the study in the hopes that it would provide an alternative to fracking in New York state. [7] Initially, Jacobson, referring to his busy academic schedule, promised only "a few paragraphs."[7] But the following day, Ruffalo found a 40-page feasibility study from Jacobson

... Krapels in turn created a business model from this study. Jacobson also created studies for California and Washington State ... A science team then employed basic calculations derived from these existing plans to create plans for the remaining 47 states....

As the richest corporations on the planet, with untold billions in wealth and assets, it's precisely the Big Oil companies who are most capable of investing in renewable energy in a BIG way, and becoming the unquestioned leaders in this new emerging field, the unquestioned way of the future if we are to survive on this planet. With their own survival and continued prosperity assured no matter what they decide to do with their assets, why then do they persist in their die hard resolve to squeeze every last drop of oil out of Mother Earth? Call it the knee jerk klepto-reflex of greed. They are like the perplexed monkey that won't let go of the treat so they can get their hand out of the narrow-necked jar. Or maybe they've rationalized to themselves that first they squeeze every last drop of profit out of the oil reserves that they are sitting on, and then, when that's all done, they go into renewable energy to make a killing there. But that will be too late for the planet, and for us all.
