4. SF Chronicle letters to the editor page today had this face-palmer: "War on biased science".

Written by a doctorate practicing social scientist, basically reversing the notion that facts have a liberal bias into "an accelerating level of liberal bias in the academic and scientific communities."
Of course it takes very little introspection to see fallacy in this in light of his own diatribe: " The majority of Americans who identify as conservative know this, and it is a major reason a lot of people distrust "science" and "scientists" (using these terms loosely).
This would be laughable if not so powerfully dangerous at this time.
"Conservatives" unable to recognize their anti-science stance over the ages, the human atrocities, oppression of progress and especially the creation of faux "science" in recent years that fought every anti-pollutant measure from removing lead from gasoline to the acceleration rollback of EPA regulatory ability to combat carbon pollutant climate change and it's dire consequences.
I tend to believe most of the readership of the Chronicle would silently utter "balderdash" along with wondering how much Faux Noise this person who earned his doctorate 40 years ago has consumed.
This is not to be trifled with. Dr Bill McConnell needs an update crash course from the likes of Bill Nye and Neil Tyson. False "news" networks are badly in need of updated "fairness doctrine" revision. It is these "greatest generation" voters who are endangering our future from the cultism they are unable to recognize due to their own willful ignorance.
