Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner hold an incredible amount of political power. That's troubling considering their incredibly small amount of political experience.

Love John Oliver but still miss John Stewart! Somehow, the British accent has more impact sometimes.

3. This would be funny if it were happening elsewhere

say, to some backwater constitutional monarchy whose main product was its fine weather and fancy casinos and Donald I had just inherited the throne, such as it was, gold plated, bidet attachment. We could look at those two blandly attractive kids getting the running of the country pushed off on their shoulders in full knowledge that there was a parliament that could overrule everything and keep the country sane. It wouldn't matter that they're incompetent or that his highness is crazier than a shithouse rat.

Unfortunately, it's our country, and if you're going to bed in the next couple of hours, mark this to watch tomorrow. It's the stuff of nightmares.

4. A sensible perspective

I hope the idiot voters can understand this - even though I know it's a stretch of enormous proportions for most of them.

7. Oliver saved my life

a few days after the election. When all the liberals were saying, "Let's all accept the defeat and move-on and let's start working together and getting along" he said, "NO! This is WRONG and it always will be wrong. Be and stay angry and this is what YOU can do..." He went on to read a list: write and call everyone involved in government and politics, donate to print publications, protest, vote, donate to groups (like Planned Parenthood), etc. I got a piece of paper and wrote it down and have followed it happily. Soon afterwards Keith started The Resistance (after The Closer) and Samantha Bee got on board. The rest followed their lead.

was something along the lines of 'Trump winning the election is like the morning after a frat party and you're waking up naked and tied to a cactus next to a dead clown. You have to ask yourself two questions : "How the fuck did I get here and what the fuck am I going to do about it now?".'
