(25,237 posts)Really? When did this first air? Is this the whole show or just a clip? I hope Rachel, Colbert or Seth shows this.

(7,382 posts)The text at the beginning of the clip says that it aired in 1958. This is just excerpts from the show, called "Trackdown". I hadn't ever heard of it before this. Remarkably prescient!

(24,259 posts)Snopes verifies it's true. http://www.snopes.com/trackdown-trump-character-wall/
Here's the uber weird part of the dialog, c&p from Snopes, for those who are skimming and/or can't play the video ATM:
Narrator: The people were ready to believe. Like sheep they ran to the slaughterhouse. And waiting for them was the high priest of fraud.
Trump: I am the only one. Trust me. I can build a wall around your homes that nothing will penetrate.
Townperson: What do we do? How can we save ourselves?
Trump: You ask how do you build that wall. You ask, and Im here to tell you.
'Confidence men' con-artists grifters have been around probably since human kind could first communicate, some some have worn robes and lived in a wagon and some expensive suits and lived in gold plated homes, all types prey on some sort of fear and/or ignorance.

I suppose the word 'Trump' has some associations with dishonesty ('trumpery'). Still - amazingly prophetic! Except - so far - the part about his being under arrest.
