When it comes to impeachment, it's case closed, end of story in my book. Trump's now confessing himself to impeachable crimes, as Al Green says, on an almost daily basis. That, and he is racking up, through his DC hotel and in a number of other ways, violations of the emoluments clause on an almost daily basis. Is Trump now confessing to impeachable crimes to dare or taunt the American people, to test them to see if they will, in fact, finally impeach him? Or does he really want to get the heck out of his new job, which is way more difficult than he thought it would be, and get back to his old life, which he admits he misses, and is looking for a way out through these confessions of impeachable offenses? Or a mixture of A and B in his twisted, narcissistic mind?
One thing's for sure: our country is going to hell in a hand basket ever since Trump took over - and that in itself should be an impeachable offense. Take the hollowing out of the State Department, that no one in the mainstream media except Rachel Maddow has been covering - that has traditionally been a bastion of our "soft power" and moral authority in the world. Donald Trump doesn't give a rat's @$$ about all that - he just wants to do his dirty oil deal in the arctic with the Russians - which is the only reason Rex Tillerson was picked as Secretary of State. My father, a career diplomat and foreign service officer, just like the whole host of them who were fired from the State Department without notice, is probably rolling over in his grave now! To heck with moral authority - Donald Trump only bows to the golden calf of money!
Robert Reich is spot on when he says that we now have all the evidence we need to impeach Trump, but the big question is: Do we have the political will??? Are Democratic lawmakers like Nancy Pelosi now being super cautious about impeachment mainly because they fear a big backlash from the racist, die-hard Trump supporters, like the ones who threatened to lynch Al Green? NO amount of evidence of Trump's commission of impeachable offenses would ever be enough to convince them that Trump should be impeached, so whenever congress finally gets around to impeaching Trump, there will be a backlash, and maybe even a violent one, from these die hards.
I applaud Al Green for courageously stepping forward to move to impeach Donald Trump!
