families eat a LOT of the cheapest most filling food they can, which is normally pasta, just to stretch what funds/allowance they get. Pastas are NOT known to be a low cal, healthy food but you do what you need to do to get by.

If you truly are concerned about poor kids weight than poor people/families don't need LESS food stamps, they need MORE so they can buy more fruits and veggies and healthier low fat meats.

Punitive cutting of food stamps makes the problem worse.

Make Steve King live in an inner city food desert for a month on a food stamp budget.

Cutting food stamps will mean these families wind up buying more pastas and other carb-laden starches, because they are filling, even if not terribly nutritious.

He and other CONservatives who think conservative voters are so smart would be doing everything to INCREASE NUTRITION.

But they don't believe what they say, of course. They are afraid of the smart PROGRESSIVE MAJORITY in the USA.
