(23,273 posts)They did a 'Made in America' campaign where they had signs on every rack of clothing. Problem was, none of the clothes were Made in America. A journalist (remember them?) went to the factory that made a lot of the clothes with a camera in his hat, pretending to be a buyer. There were 9 year old kids working there and living in the factory. The owner charged them for room and board. The owner said he would put a label that said Made in America if they wanted. This was 20 years ago, and right after the big Kathy Lee Gifford scandal.
And many of those Make America Great Trump voters happily shop at Walmart for their July 4th Freedom supplies.
Oh, the irony.

(16,730 posts)anymore. Which is why I strive to make most of my own clothing and buy fabrics milled in the U.S.A. I may not be a Union sewer, but I live in a Union house.
The Trumps are nothing more than con artists who say how much they care about the workers of this country while their overpriced knock offs are made by slave laborers overseas.

(45,380 posts)here is a list of brands that have at least some of their products made in America. Some even list which state it was made in. I paid extra to get some boots that were made in Wisconsin. I have cookware made in Tennessee and PA and blender made in Utah. If I wait patiently for sales, it's doable.

(45,380 posts)they just don't care. There are freepers whining that the liberal media is unfairly focusing on his clothing instead of his message and it's really the lazy unions' fault that factories are cheaper overseas.

(20,819 posts)Obviously once he "fixes" the trade system he'll make his clothing here (wink, wink).
This is the average logic of a Trump voter. Trump doesn't pay taxes because he's smart, Trump doesn't make things in the US because he's smart etc... but he'll fix these rules that clearly favor rich ppl like him. Don't worry he really wants to make new rules that punish people like Trump. Sure he does
Trump didn't get rich by thinking his average mug he targets uses any logic at all. The average Trump voter was born to be suckered and boy does he sucker them.

I don't hear republicans calling the Trump family hypocrites for not hiring all Americans for jobs in Trump owned properties or the fact that their products are NOT made in the USA.
Nor are their any plans to bring those jobs back to the US.
Why do Republicans hold the Democrats responsible when their on Commander in Chief does nothing?

(5,697 posts)If you want to see clothing "made in america" get out one of your old family photo albums and look at the clothes your family wore up into the late 1960's.
