I have two boys in the Scouts and the last thing they are is Hitler Youth. I learned life saving in the Scouts and when I was 15 years old my neighbor accidentally set himself on fire. The training I received allowed me to act in a calm manner and put him out. Go read the Scout Law and tell me which of the 12 laws would lead you to believe that the Scouts are nothing but Hitler Youth.

Had 28 Eagle Scouts during that time, went to Philmont 5 times. My son is an Eagle Scout and OA vigil member.

Than you should know better than to make a comment like that. I am currently the committee chair and I gave had 4 Eagles during my first year. We have 11 Life Scouts including one of my son's in various stages along their Eagle journey. The Scouts have so much to compete against and in not setting parameters for Trumps speech they have just put one more obstacle in our recruiting efforts. I live in a very purple area of Virginia so our Troop gets quite the mixture of kids and patents.

The BSA has had an open invitation for every President to attend. The leadership clearly didn't think this through. If Trump was unwilling to be apolitical then I would have rescinded the invitation.
