The audible gasp

The "audible gasp" after Senator McCain dropped his thumb down is music to my ears. To me, the gasp represents the collective voice of the American people, especially the American people who would have faced loss and death had the vote gone the other way. I could listen to that gasp forever. Congratulations to the Democrats and the three Republicans who stood strong.

would get to him. Seems it did. I can't imagine ANY previously admired public figure who would want to "go out" on that note.

He completely stares down McConnell for a second after making his vote. I'm sure that was intentional.

Wonder what that relationship is like.

That wasn't a middle finger salute. It was a cluster fuck pass in review.

My apologies, Senator, for what I wrote earlier. You stood up and saved lives. Thank you.

I stopped watching the news because I thought I would throw up if I heard the word "skinny" again. Look what I missed.

McCain fooled us all. In the end, he went with integrity. Thank you Senator McCain.

If the bill hadn't advanced, he wouldn't have had the chance to shoot it down for good and we'd still be hearing about this the rest of the year.

I dont believe McCain voted no because he did not agree with the bill. I believe McCain saw the unbelievable outpouring of disdain, distrust, and just outright hatred he received by voting yes to bring the shitty bills forward. IMO, he felt his legacy is in the shitter, and needed to do something to prop it up. Sorry but you deserve what you got. He will now live out the rest of his life thinking the American people will love him, and he can die happy. ok well if you think that, great, but until this country understands that this current administration, congress and Supreme court are not in your best interest. I saw where Fuckump donated 100,000 quarterly paycheck to the department of education, yet he wants to cut 9.5 billion from the department of education budget. Ok so his supporters are see hes great.... hey idiots, you have kids too, you have sick relatives too, you have parents on Medicare too.... get with the big picture...its not just a liberal/democratic thing

she's been unfairly (in comparison to most political figures) villified and pilloried for years. Her cool handling of that 11 hour congressional grilling should be the image that defines her to the general public. I'd like to see how Trump would have handled it.

sent McCain a registered letter at the Mayo Clinic where he was being treated that asked him to look at the irony of his situation where he was enjoying the best health care in the world and on the cusp of taking basic health care away from millions. Maybe it helped.

Sure couldn't hurt. Every once in a while, when there's an issue in which McCain has a personal stake -- like torture -- he does the right thing for a fleeting moment. This was a big one.
