Starting with a beautiful boy beautifully singing, then you realize he is a Nazi and then others join him (supposedly rational adults). Only a few, older, wiser Germans realize the harm. A very chilling end since we see this from a historical perspective.

Fosse is underrated as a director, IMO.

It's a lesson to nip dangerous people like this early on, before they get too much power. American Nazis are trashy people, disorganized, buffoons. But they could become more organized and attract non-buffoons, if left unchecked.
