Rachel Maddow reports on a new marker on Mississippi's Freedom Trail honoring the Tougaloo Nine, black students who staged a "read in" at a whites-only library and endured arrest and imprisonment for their trouble, but inspired countless others.

live currently in NC, but never knew about this event until just watching the video. I considered myself knowledgeable on black history matters, having visited most of the sacred places in Alabama for such matters.

* Civil Rights Institute, Birmingham
* 16th Street Baptist Church
* Kelly Ingram Park
* US 80 between Selma and Montgomery, travelled road in semi and car
* Tuskegee Institute/University, Tuskeegee
* Dexter Avenue, Montgomery
* Hank Aaron childhood home, Mobile

Also the grounds of HBCUs Alabama A&M, Miles College, Talladega College, Alabama State University, and the aforementioned Tuskeegee. I continue to learn at my AARP age. Never stop.
