Special Forces is a SMALL community. Call 'em "select" or "elite" or whatever you want, it's a very small percentage of various service branches.

And as with any other SMALL community, people KNOW each other.

If you went to a country town High School with a graduating class of 43, how long do you think some moron could get away with crashing your 25th reunion and claiming they were a classmate?

Special Forces are also tight, as a community. They've been through a lot with each other. They've survived shit. They may or may not be "proud" of their own service but they're damn' protective of one another. They WILL call out anyone claiming to be 'one of us' who ISN'T.
