If you were a White guy with no status, you could fall into disrepute and even lose your job.

If you were a Black guy, you were (depending on the seriousness of the allegation, and on whether the girl was White or not), you could face being "found" dead. The police would be sure to become very foggy and confused about the crime.

I lived in Mississippi a number of years, and heard quite a few stories - including of at least a couple of grand poobahs who harassed young men (while being rabidly anti-gay rights, of course).

then why was he banned from the mall and numerous employees have said he came off as a perv...is that normal?

These women have betrayed everything mothers have tried to share with their daughters. Moore's behavior was never accepted, except among his accomplices and enablers. The proof is, if Moore was a democrat they would not be so forgiving.

who passed away in '04 and would be 89 now, saying something like "those girls were probably asking for it."

It's just how a lot of women from that generation thought and talked. Sad but true.
