Which puts Moore's god on exactly the same level as the Nazis. The Nazis sent Jews to Auschwitz for being Jews, Moore's god is sending Jews to hell for being Jews.

Since the strongest determiner of one's religion is the religion of one's parents, Moore has a just, loving and merciful god saying, "Too bad, you chose the wrong parents. It's off to hell without a fan for you."

White Southern children are carefully taught the fantasy that black people had it really, really good as slaves, and that once they found out how awful it was in the free world, the smartest of them hauled ass back to the plantations and Massa's tender mercies. And no, I'm not making this up---I learned this perverted historical trash as a child, and I am confident that it's still being inflicted on kids, to this day.

Alabamans are going to put him in the senate next Tuesday and the senate won't do a damn thing about him.

We've got to hang this around the Republican's necks every minute of every day until the next election. Many knuckle draggers will still vote for Republicans, but I think we can gain control of the House and maybe the sentate too.

This is what Southerners call the "antebellum" (before THE war) period.

This is one of the memories I have of going to high school in the South. Memories of the glorification of the abomination of the slavery period they called the "antebellum" period, the time when white women wore fancy skirts, beautiful clothes and supposedly did no work (because African-American slaves did it all). That's the memory, the legend. The reality was, of course, most certainly quite different.

It was a cruel time, a time of whips and the slave trade. It was an abomination. For African-Americans, it was Hell.

We'd be better off if we had let Southerners fight it out amongst themselves. My Midwestern ancestors worked for their own bread and butter, made their clothes and moved when Native Americans asked them to.

Shame on Roy Moore and those Southerners that agree with him about "when America was great."

America was great when we united behind Roosevelt and bravely and nobly fought against the NAZIs and Fascism. We were not perfect, but we were a great nation.

Whenever they bring up any of the the Civil War south topics, I simply ask them "So, your favorite part of southern history was when the Democratic Party ruled it?? Most interesting." or "are you really defending monuments (or flag) of some of the worst Democrats in US history that led a revolt against the United States?"

Sure, that's more than just a bit disingenuous on my part, but it really seems to stump them up.

Judge Roy Moore Is Hoping to Get Your Vote for Alabama Senator in a Special Election

Moore announced he would run for the United States Senate seat that was vacated by Jeff Sessions upon Sessions's confirmation as Attorney General. Some are calling the race a proxy war between the populist and establishment wings of the Republican Party.

The reason this race has significance is because a loss could potentially shift Republicans' tenuous authority in the Senate. The GOP currently holds 52 seats in the Senate, while Democrats hold 48 and 2 independents caucus with Democrats.

Judge Roy Moore Was Unfit for Office Even Before Sexual Abuse Allegations

As Chief Justice of the state supreme court, Moore was involved in repeated controversy, and was suspended from the bench twice for ethics violations. He is also a far-right, ultra-conservative, religious fundamentalist, and accused child molester. Below is a list of his controversial views, actions, and sexual abuse allegations.

• In 2004, Moore refused to comply and was removed from office on ethics grounds.

• In 2005, he said "homosexual conduct" should still be illegal.

• In 2006, Moore campaigned for governor of Alabama but lost with 33.34% of the vote.

Doug Jones prosecuted Thomas Edwin Blanton Jr. and Bobby Frank Cherry, two members of the Ku Klux Klan, for their roles in the 1963 16th Street Baptist Church bombing that killed four little girls.

Roy Moore tends to prefer his interpretation of Christian Scripture to laws and court orders, which has twice put him out of a job for defying federal court rulings.

The only way this guy 'governs' is to pick on the fringe group of the day to ridicule (like tRUMP) and actually never does any governing. I'm sick and tired of such POS getting so much attention when we do really need good competent leaders in this country.
